When Was Workers Compensation Established?

A modern workers’ compensation system was established in 1884 with the passage of the Workers’ Accident Insurance Act.Workers who were unable to work due to an illness that was not caused by their employment were eligible for financial assistance under the Public Pension Insurance program.Workers who were injured on the job and afterwards unable to return to their jobs were protected by public assistance programs.
